About Dr. Dino Del Mastro
Dr. Dino Del Mastro began training in judo at age five under coach Kyu Ha Kim, a multiple-time Korean national champion. At eight years old, he also began competing in wrestling in Southwestern Pennsylvania, part of the highly competitive WPIAL region.
Throughout his youth, he competed in both sports, earning multiple junior national titles in judo while continuing to wrestle through high school. He wrestled at Bethel Park High School under coach Mark Bonnaccorsi, serving as team captain his senior year and finishing that season as a sectional champion.
He continued competing in judo during college and had the opportunity to train and compete in Osaka, Japan, with Kansai Gaidai University, where he participated in the national university team qualifying tournament.
During his collegiate years, he sustained three ACL injuries that required reconstructive surgeries, ultimately ending his competitive wrestling and judo career and influencing his transition toward a profession in sports rehabilitation.
After stepping away from wrestling and judo competition, Dr. Del Mastro began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and currently holds the rank of brown belt under Alan Marques at Heroes Martial Arts in San Jose, California. He remains active in masters-level competition.
